New CD From Steve Straughan's Hi-Fi Spitfires
U.K. Subs guitarist, Steve Straughan, has been busy in the down time between Subs commitments and has recorded a new five track CD with his other band, Hi-Fi Spitfires. Entitled 'Doors To The USA', the release features four new tracks and a new version of 'Last Gang' that appears on Steve's solo album of the same name. Charlie Harper Appears On Ramonas 'Original' Debut Album
All female Ramones tribute act, The Ramonas, have released a brand new album of all original material entitled 'First World Problems' and it features the harmonica playing talents of Charlie Harper. Charlie plays on 'Tearaway' after asking the band if he could play on one of their tracks.

Best known for their blistering sets of Ramones songs, 'First World Problems' sees the band blossom as song writers in their own right and can be currently seen playing sets of all original material up and down the country, including a support slot with the U.K. Subs at The Con Club in Lewes on the 26th of November.

U.K. Subs 2017 Pledge Music Update Nos 19, 20 & 21
The latest update on the Subs' latest Pledge Music campaign was made today as follows:

Tshirt, badges and patches, oh my!
Evening all,
Due to an administrative error the badges and patches will commence shipping in 7 days time. There was also a problem with the printing machine at the place where we ordered the dye sublimated tshirts, so we're still waiting on them to arrive with us. They are expected on Tuesday and will be shipped out ASAP.
Massive apologies for these delays but thank you all for your patience.
Also we want to extend our thanks to all who came to our 40th anniversary show last night. It was one of the hottest gigs we can remember but the atmosphere was electric! Perhaps our favourite part was going back onstage when the mics had been taken down and playing with just the back line. Stripped down punk rock, so much fun.
Cheers!"

U.K. SUBS OLD-NEW 7" DUE IN THE NEW YEAR - UPDATE
After Punkerama Records' recent release of the Charlie Harper acoustic 7" solo single 'Warhead' / 'Rebellion Song', Punkerama's MD Gary Fahy has announced that the label will be issuing a U.K. Subs 7" in January 2018 of two Subs songs from their fifth album 'Endangered Species'. Described by Gary as "the single that should have been lifted from the album...", the 500 limited edition was originally scheduled to be a picture disc featuring the album title track as well as 'Lie Down And Die', but will now be issued as follows:
175 on pink
175 on purple

Subs bassist Alvin Gibbs has just had his brilliant book on his time touring as part of the Iggy Pop band re-published in an expanded and updated form. The Subs have announced that they will be releasing two brand new singles, the band's first recordings featuring new guitarist Steve Straughan, via Pledge Music. Below is the announcement posted on the Subs Facebook page, which was accompanied by a short video of Charlie and Alvin speaking about the new campaign...

T&M's next release will be T&M 027 and sees Charlie Harper reunited with two ex-Subs, Pete Davies and Darrell Bath, for a one off single; Charlie Harper & Friends - Stop Hobophobia.
Recorded at Pat Collier's Perry Vale Studios in November 2015, it also sees the Straps Phil McDermott playing bass on the A-Side.

T&M and U.K. Subs hand over £4,000 cheque to RNLI
At the U.K. Subs' gig at the 'Talking Heads' music venue in Southampton on Friday 19 May, Time & Matter Recordings and the U.K. Subs made their latest donation to the RNLI, which is Charlie Harper's favourite charity.
The T&M cheque, representing total donations of £4,000 raised since May 2014 via Time & Matter's charity releases, e-Bay auctions as well as Yuko's collections via the band's merchandise desk was handed over to Jez Cronin, the RNLIs Legacy & In Memory Team Co-Ordinator, who is based at the RNLI headquarters in Poole, Dorset.

U.K. Subs Record Store Day 2017 Release
This year's Record Store Day contains one U.K. Subs vinyl release, a re-issue of the 'Live In Paris' LP, which has been re-titled 'Live 'N' Loud (aka Greatest Hits In Paris)'. Issued by Interference Records, the LP will be hand numbered, on colour vinyl and with an insert, which presumably will be the same content from the booklet that came with the recent CD version of this release.

Pete Davies News - Blackmayne
Ex-U.K. Subs sticksman Pete Davies has been drumming with the recently reformed NWOBHM band Blackmayne, alongside his fellow Straps member Phil McDermott.
Pete recently told T&M that "The Blackmayne CD is now avaliable on Eat Metal Records (click here). I'm not gigging with the band but have been asked if I'll record with them again, for their next/new album."
The CD features Pete on some newly recorded tracks, with the press release reading as follows:
Pete also revealed that he will also start rehearsing with covers band Never Mind the Sex Pistols in a couple of weeks...

All the quickfire questions were centred around 2016 and this new year 2017...
Jamie's most memorable occasion in 2016 was "...qualifying for my skydiving licence and skydiving over Niagara Falls...", Charlie said his favourite gig of the year was the Urban Dogs supporting the Damned in Cambridge, Steve mentioned he loved "playing at the Great British Alternative Music Festival" whilst Alvin's highlight of last year was "...recording the critically acclaimed brilliant new album 'Attack' by Urban Dogs, available now on Time and Matter Records..."
