Ex-Subs Bassist Set For Lift Off With New Band

Ex-U.K. Subs bassist Ricky McGuire's new music project is the "new alt rock band" ROCKET66 from London whose sound also encompasses rock, punk, soul and ska.

Rocket66 is the new venture of Carl Engelmarc (The Members) on guitar, Ricky McGuire (U.K. Subs, The Men They Couldn't Hang) on bass, Dave Broderick (Last Of The Teenage Idols) on drums and featuring maverick newcomer Alex Love on vocals.

The band formed in early 2015 when Carl, Ricky and Dave met in the now dormant/hibernating punk band The Fits.
They have been writing and recording demos at Miloco studios in Bermondsey, London, which has resulted in 8 brand new songs.
In the meantime, they plan to fully record these in November/December and are looking to initially release an EP followed by an album in the new year.

There's also talk of doing a video to coincide with the release of the EP and they'll be looking for gigs to promote these.

The band's live debut is scheduled for the 27th October @Barnets punk night at The Alley Cat on Denmark Street, London.

Doors open at 7:30pm, admission is £5-00 and Rocket66 are due on stage at 8:15pm, providing support to the The London Sewage Company, who themselves are due on stage at 9:00pm.

Rocket66 have their own Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/rckt66/ where you can stay up to date for more info, demos, videos, events and gigs.

Exciting times indeed!
