Charlie's new side project band
SHITEHAWK start recording
After a weekend which saw him play a live acoustic set with Knox as The Urban Dogs as well as launch the incredibly exciting U.K. Subs final album Pledge Music campaign, the indefatigable Charlie Harper has now gathered together yet another side project band.
Called SHITEHAWK, they went into Pat Collier's Perry Vale Studio to record a couple of tracks, to be released as a Time & Matter Records 7" early next year, of which, one of the tracks recorded was 'Stop Hobophobia'...
This inaugural recording session for Shitehawk consisted of Charlie, with ex-Sub Darrell Bath on guitar, ex-Sub Pete Davies on drums as well as Phil McDermott from the Straps filling in on bass. Phil told T&M that "...it was a superb experience, in fact it was an honour - three punk greats.... and me!"
This new venture will be an occasional band, who will tour next year as well as hopefully record an LP. Ex-Subs bassist Paul Slack completes the line-up as follows, but as indicated above, he couldn't make the session...
Charlie Harper - vocals
Darrell Bath - guitar
Paul Slack - bass
Pete Davies - drums
This fabulous new band are obviously all ex-Subs, with the Slack/Davies rhythm section being arguably its most famous, having recorded the Subs' most successful material from 1978 to 1980.
The Time & Matter website will bring you all the latest updates on Shitehawk, so stay tuned folks...
